Halloween Flash Fiction Challenge!

It's been a very good week for me, writing wise. I've started writing on my second series novel again, which feels great after such a long time of not being able to. I'm trying to take a more nanowrimo approach to it and let the first draft of it be a mess, knowing that I can and will be going back to fix it. It's been helping a lot with my productivity and ability to enjoy writing, but my perfectionist side gets a hold of me every so often. I've written nine new scenes this week. Nine! And well over 11k words! Yes, God has blessed me with a very good week.

Speak of Nano, it is just around the corner and at the moment I'm considering going into it with this novel, if it keeps going well. It would be good to finish another of the series. If not, I have another story waiting in the wings, along with several prequel short stories.

As for other writerly things, I've been challenged by a new writer friend, Catherine Valentine, to write some flash fiction stories! There were two challenges to choose from, actually, and the details can be seen here on her blog.

I've written flash fiction before, so I decided I would try to do both challenges, just for fun! That will make for six flash fictions, one of which I'll be writing up a horror story. And what insect will I choose? I'll let this funny video give you a hint. ;)

Now, I just better get to it! Does the challenge sound like fun to you? Why not give it a try!
