Well, I'm not distracted am I? I completely forgot to post that I reached my word goal Camp NaNoWriMo for April. Very nearly didn't though, due to the distractions of life, if I'm honest. I finished the month with 40,777 words between the fanfic, character sheets, and short story stuff. Of course, I just kept going since the end of April, so since my last word goal total I've added:
The Last Doomling Book 2: 3,472
Camp Nano Fic: 50,150
Seth's Backstory Notes: 440
Seth's Questionnaire: 1,728
Seth's Backstory: 1,279
Marcus' Backstory Notes: 84
For a total of: 57,153
And a new total challenge count of 295,946
As for other goings on, I have a few other exciting things to share!
First, my daughter's first birthday was a couple days ago! Hard to believe that so much time has gone by already, but then, I always say that. She's growing so big ^_^
Second, a comic I've been following for years, called Peter and Company, is going to be turned into an animated series! They are currently accepting auditions for voice actors, so I'm going to give it a shot. Because our original microphone(which admittedly was a very cheap one) was no where to be found, I purchased a Nessie by Blue. Then the silly thing went and broke on me within a day. That's what I get for buying used, I suppose. Fortunately, my awesome hubby was able to rig up a way to use the mic on his video camera. Funny thing was, it gave me better audio and noise reduction than the Nessie did! And I made my own pop filter, from a pair of pantyhose put over a piece of metal cut off the top of a baby formula can, which is tied onto the mic with two pieces of sparkly, green pipe cleaners. XD Whatever works, that's my motto. Or at least it is for today.
I've spent the last two nights up, working on these auditions. I probably did over a hundred different recordings altogether, but it was worth it and a lot of fun to do! So, I'll be keeping an eye out for announcements on who got the parts. If you haven't already, you should check out the comic. It's one of my favorites. ^_^
Third, my cousin(who might as well be my sister) is going to be moving down to live with us! Three days ago, I did not know this, or that I'd be making the 1k mile drive up to Wisconsin this Wednesday with my in-laws and my three kids to visit my mother and pick my cousin up. But I don't mind because my cousin wants a better relationship with God and needs the support. Besides, we all need a bit of crazy in our lives once in a while and it will be good to have her around again. I just hope she'll find what she needs while she stays with us.
So, in light of that, I have some packing to do, but first, I must sleep. P.S: If anyone's looking for me in the meantime, I probably won't be back home until at least the sixth of next month. Have a great day all!
