Blush Update.

I've been struggling to finish Blush for the last two months now, and as much as I hate to say it, I've come to the conclusion that I need to start over. While I've liked most of what I've written, it's still not up to par with what I think it needs to be in order to publish it. And if I'm not satisfied with it, I doubt that my readers will be.

I was having too many problems, a choppiness to the scenes, dialog that was driving me positively crazy (dialog is my biggest weakness in writing), and problems with certain characters, well, being out of character. I've come to realize that this book will be finished faster, and turn out better, if I rewrite it. Even if that means it's going to take me a few more months. Even if it means writing another 128,000 words. I apologize to those who've been waiting for this second book to come out, but I'd hate to put out an inferior book.

Please forgive me for the new blog's unfinished state. I've still got to put up the page for the books and the soundtracks, but I'll get that done as soon as possible. Since the second book is going to be rewritten, the excerpt will be delayed until the first chapter is done. However the first book's excerpt will be the same.

Also, for those of you who've been wondering why I've changed pen names from Julieann Couture to Brianna Dare, I have my reasons. I first published under my real name, but since nearly everyone I've met has either misspelled or mispronounced my real name (I don't blame them), I've decided that I would use a pen name for simplicity. The change is not about keeping my identity a secret, but because it is far easier for others to pronounce and for me to sign. In fact, I answer to both Julieann and Brianna, because there was a time that I considered changing my legal name to Brianna and the family started calling me by it. Even though I haven't gotten the chance to change it over, and I might not ever, it stuck. I probably will use other pen names in the future as well, when I write books in other genres, and when I do I will post them here.

I've also discovered one of the reasons that I have not been posting blogs as often as I'd like to is because I've been too serious, focusing only blogging about the professional part of my life. While I like talking about my books, I have many other things happening in my life than just work. So I'm going to allow myself to blog about my opinions and goings on that have nothing to do with work, just because it's fun and I enjoy it.

On that note, I'm happy to announce that on March 19th my husband and I added another son, Liam, to our family! He's now three weeks old and is fawned over by everyone in the house, even his older brother, Owen. Owen, who's nearly three years old, is the biggest helper and loves babies, so it's been adorable watching him interact with his new little brother. Needless to say, my life is very full right now.

Our family delayed celebrating Easter, as we do many holidays, because it was on a work day for my husband. So today we are dying and decorating eggs together, a first for my oldest son since last year he was a bit young to actually participate.
